Hello, i'm a 17 year old senior in abilene, kansas. I admit now that i have no personal relations to anyone in nyc; but after watching the horrible devisitation of the events; live might i add(unfortunately). It really affects a person.

It's never happened where i turned on the tv to see thousands of die live. I mean i thought it had to be a movie or something. It's just that my generation has never known war, famine or death. We never really had a pearl harbor, vietnam or such.

I've seen peers that i known never to take anything seriously or such, nearly cry at the sight of this horrific situation.

I'm usually not an emotional guy, but lately i've found myself in sadness when thinking 'what if i knew someone in there', when i think about how those people feel who are searching for their loved ones who might not be alive. 'What if it was me?'

Very few people in the area around me, has personal connections. Like my history teacher's brother-in-law's uncle worked at the world trade center. I can still remember the grim sadness in his face when he said that he hasn't heard from him.

It's sad how it had to end like this; all i can do is hope that this can come to a peaceful resolution. Just remember that my thoughts as well as the entire community of kansas, nation and world are for those lost and those who were left behind. This is truly the worst tradegy that anything could happen.

To those who's loved ones are missing; i hope and prey that all of them are found alive and well.
